The CURT 45900 Adjustable Channel Mount with Dual Ball & 2-in Shank easily tows trailers without requiring an arsenal of ball mounts. Its durable forged steel construction withstands the elements, while the built-in anti-rattle provides smooth, quiet towing. The dual-ball head offers versatile towing options featuring standard 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch diameter trailer balls to fit two different-sized trailer couplers. The entire head securely attaches to the adjustable shank using the included hitch pins and clips. These hitch pins can also be replaced with a hitch lock set for added security. This adjustable channel mount comes with a 2-inch shank to fit any 2 x 2-inch receiver hitch. The shank has two hitch pin holes to adjust the ball mount from 11 to 12 inches, providing extra clearance for the rear bumper, a spare tire, or other obstructions. The channel mount is set with a series of vertical holes to mount the included dual-ball. The holes are spaced 1 inch apart, allowing the ball mount to perfectly suit the trailer for smooth, stable towing. This channel mount offers a maximum drop of 6 inches and can be flipped for a maximum rise of 5-1/4 inches. For safety, it undergoes strict testing procedures. This model features a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 10,000 lbs for the 2-inch ball and 14,000 lbs for the 2-5/16-inch ball, making it a great choice for livestock haulers, large flatbed trailers, deluxe travel trailers, and more (never exceed the weight ratings of the lowest-rated towing component). Built into the adjustable shank is an anti-rattle mechanism - a rubber bumper that fits between the shank channel and the trailer ball attachment. The adjustable channel mount is coated with carbide black powder for longevity and anti-corrosion while the dual ball is given a yellow zinc finish for extra rust resistance.
